Kitty Wisdom
About the Song
“Kitty Wisdom” is about the ways my relationship with Kodiak slowly changed my own life. There were times when I struggled to do basic things for myself, but I could still commit to taking Kodi outside every day—and that small promise became the beginning of much bigger changes. Over the years, I started noticing other things I could learn from him too: getting outside, resting when you need to, protecting your space, enjoying the moment, setting boundaries, and knowing when to be close or take time for yourself. The song turns those little lessons into advice that could come from a cat, but really applies just as much to people. It’s about how small changes, repeated over time, can quietly move a life somewhere better.
Lyrics
We've been living our best lives out on the road
But it ain't always been like that
Saved by a cat
Not sure if I was ever coming back
Had tapped the map
Felt like I might be dying flat
He joined the chat
Helped me find my awareness hat
Turns out was mostly habitat
Imagine that
A promise and a kitty pack
Back on track
Old me ancient artifact
Where we are is where we at
Don't mean we can't stop to snack
Stealing time for kitty pats
Slowly watch the impacts
Kitty wisdom extracts
My cats taught me about life
Here's a few things helped my dark go bright
Everyday small changes lead to greener places
And our kitty cats show us how
Get outside, sniff the air
Go here and there like you don't care
But stay aware
Life gets better with the moments you can spare
Enjoy your share
Allowing only what is best into your lair
Dare to dare
If you need a nap, take over any chair
Be sincere
What loves you will find you in your atmosphere
Interfere
Time to time those that feed you might need you near
Disappear
Time for yourself can help life feel a bit more clear
Pioneer
It's your frontier and you know best on how to steer
My cats taught me about life
Here's a few things helped my dark go bright
Everyday small changes lead to greener places
And our kitty cats show us how
