I Like to Find My Cat at Random Times of the Day to Say Hi
About the Song
“I Like to Find My Cat at Random Times of the Day to Say Hi” is the theme song for one of Kodiak and my biggest recurring video series. The series follows exactly what the title says: I go find Kodi at random times of the day, say hi, and see what he’s up to. Over time, those videos have grown into a major part of the account, reaching more than 100 million views on TikTok alone. Once I started making more original music, it felt inevitable that a series this recognizable needed its own song—so this became the theme for it.
Lyrics
I like to find my cat, to know just where he's at
When it's safe enough to roam, he loves that
Goes out to work, but he always comes back
My favorite thing to know, tracking him like Pokemon Go
The Seek, the Flop, the Pats, the Hello
Everyone calling me an unemployed fellow, cause..
I like to find my cat at random times of the day to say hi
I like to see him free, each night he's home with me
A compromise built to ease my anxiety
Never would have guessed the level of notoriety
My favorite time of day, I find him then we play
Sometimes he's busy, he tells me he's gotta stay
All good, no prob, I wave as I walk away cause..
I like to find my cat at random times of the day to say hi
